Scope: SIE provided specification development and review, and manufacturing and testing inspection services for very large viscous dampers included in the retractable roof structure of a new baseball stadium.

Central Park Reservoir Seismic Retrofit, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Clients: Sandwell, Inc./ Greater Vancouver Regional District

Scope: SIE provided concept, design, analysis and testing review for this first ever application of viscous dampers for the seismic upgrade of a non-ductile reinforced-concrete reservoir structure.
LAPD Recruit Training Center Seismic Retrofit, Los Angeles, California

Clients: The City of Los Angeles / Bernards Brothers Construction / The Crosby Group

Scope: SIE provided design peer review and independent inspection of damper testing for this seismic upgrade of an existing four-story steel moment-resisting frame building in Los Angeles, California. The upgrade used 44 viscoelastic dampers installed with a chevron brace assembly.
Isolation Retrofit of the Golden Gate Bridge North Viaduct, San Francisco, California

Clients: Signet Testing Laboratories / Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation District.

Scope: SIE provided testing inspection services and design review services for lead-rubber isolation bearings for the seismic isolation retrofit of the North Viaduct approach to the Golden Gate Bridge.
